What we Have, How it is Organized and What we Do.
We have, as I just mentioned above, a lot of books, records, and collectibles. Basically, we try and organize everything alphabetically, by author. The collectibles cannot be so arranged - how can you list a leather golfbag, a 1940s portable recording device and a 1930s typewriter alphabetically when they are displayed throughout the shop? - but the books and music are. Here are the divisions simplified:
Non-Fiction: Back Room: BC and Canadian History/ First Nations and Anthropology/ Cars & Railways/Christian/ Other Religions and Spirituality/ Self Help/ Women's Studies and Psychology/ Addictions/ Antiquities/// War/ World History/ Science/ Gardening/ Business/ Hunting & Fishing/ Wildlife/ Current Affairs/ Woodworking & Building/ Medicine/ Philosophy/ Food & Diet (incl. recipe books)/ Travel/ Art, Crafts & Photography/ True Crime/ Music/ Sports.
Fiction: Front Room: Modern Fiction/ Science Fiction and Fantasy/ Westerns and Adventure/ Award winners and New Arrivals/ Mystery, Murder and Romance/ Records, CDs and DVDs/ Classics/ Poetry and Theatre.
Others: Side Room: Children and Teens/ Humour/ Foreign Languages/ Biography.
Collectibles are displayed throughout the shop.
